Demonstrating how connected technology bridges cyclists, vehicles, and cities
On May 28, 2025, Spoke proudly participated in the ITS America V2X Webinar Series #2: “Real-World V2X Uses to Improve Vulnerable Road User Safety.”
This insightful virtual session brought together transportation professionals, automotive OEMs, policymakers, and safety advocates to discuss practical implementations of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies, specifically Cellular V2X (C-V2X), aimed at enhancing the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users (VRUs).
Reid Sigety, Chief Strategy & Operating Officer at Spoke, delivered an impactful presentation showcasing tangible use cases and deployments where Spoke’s V2X technology has demonstrated immediate improvements in VRU safety. Reid emphasized the critical nature of deploying V2X solutions now, highlighting real-world scenarios where cyclist and pedestrian incidents could be significantly reduced through timely driver alerts enabled by C-V2X technology.
The webinar also featured notable speakers, including Brad Stertz from Audi and Kirk Neibert from the City of Bellevue, who shared their experiences and success stories implementing V2X technologies in varied urban environments. Participants gained valuable insights on effectively integrating these solutions into safety strategies, with particular attention given to securing funding via the U.S. DOT’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program.
For those interested in deeper insights, the full webinar recording is available through the ITS America website and their official YouTube channel.
